Change plan or cancel
Plan changes and cancellations are handled in the Stripe billing portal, which you reach from the Billing page.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You must be an owner or an admin.
- Your workspace must have an active subscription. A workspace still on trial has no Stripe subscription to manage, so use the plan cards instead. See Your trial and upgrading.
- The portal is not available to a Tidehawk support engineer working in your workspace.
Change your plan
Section titled “Change your plan”- Open Billing.
- Select Manage subscription.
- Change the plan in the Stripe portal.
- Return to Tidehawk.
Upgrades take effect immediately and Stripe pro-rates your card for the remainder of the billing period. Your new client limit applies as soon as the change lands.
If you are downgrading, check your client count first. The new plan’s limit is a hard cap, so archive any clients you no longer monitor before moving down. See Plans and limits.
Cancel
Section titled “Cancel”Cancel in the same Stripe portal. There is no exit fee.
What happens after you cancel
Section titled “What happens after you cancel”Your subscription status becomes cancelled and a 30-day retention window opens. Tidehawk emails the owners straight away with the exact date on which the data will be deleted, and emails again 7 days before that date.
During the window:
- The Billing page shows a banner with the deletion date and the days remaining.
- Your data is still there, so you can reactivate or take an export.
At the end of the window the workspace and every record in it are permanently deleted through the same erasure pipeline used for a right-to-erasure request. See Delete your workspace.
Reactivate before the window closes
Section titled “Reactivate before the window closes”- Open Billing.
- Select Reactivate in the banner, or scroll to Reactivate your workspace.
- Choose a plan and complete checkout.
Subscribing again clears the scheduled deletion. Tidehawk emails the owners to confirm that the data is no longer scheduled for deletion.
Delete immediately instead of waiting
Section titled “Delete immediately instead of waiting”If you do not want the 30-day window, an owner can shorten it.
- Open Billing after cancelling.
- In the cancellation banner, select Delete all my data now.
- Type your workspace name to confirm, then select Delete everything.
The deletion runs on the next scheduled pass rather than instantly, and it is irreversible. This option is only available once the subscription has been cancelled. To delete a workspace that still has a live subscription, submit an erasure request instead.
