Archive or remove a client
Tidehawk gives you two ways to stop monitoring a client. Archiving is reversible and keeps everything. Permanent deletion is not reversible and keeps nothing.
Archive a client
Section titled “Archive a client”- Open the client.
- Select the ··· button in the top right.
- Choose Archive client.
- Read the confirmation and select Archive.
The dialogue states what happens: the client is hidden from your active client list, all certificates and history are preserved, and you can unarchive at any time.
An archived client no longer counts against your plan’s client limit, so archiving is the right move when you part ways with a customer but want to keep the record. See client limits.
See and restore archived clients
Section titled “See and restore archived clients”On the Clients page, select Show archived to switch the list to archived clients. Archived rows carry an Archived badge.
To restore one, open it, select ···, choose Unarchive client, then confirm with Unarchive.
Delete a client permanently
Section titled “Delete a client permanently”Permanent deletion is available to workspace owners and admins only. Technicians see the archive options but not this one.
- Open the client.
- Select ···, then Delete permanently.
- The dialogue explains that the client, all its domains, certificates and history will be deleted and that this cannot be undone.
- Type the client’s name exactly into the confirmation box. A Copy button next to the label puts the name on your clipboard.
- Select Delete permanently.
The button stays disabled until the typed name matches.
Which to choose
Section titled “Which to choose”| Situation | Do this |
|---|---|
| Customer has left, keep the record | Archive |
| Need a free client slot on your plan | Archive |
| Duplicate or test client created by mistake | Delete permanently |
| Customer has asked you to erase their data | Delete permanently |
Both actions are recorded in your workspace audit log, with who did it and when.
Removing a single domain instead
Section titled “Removing a single domain instead”If you only want to stop watching one hostname, you do not need to touch the client. Open the client’s Domains tab and select Delete on that row. Certificates already discovered stay in the inventory.
